How to Sell 3D Prints on eBay
eBay takes 13.6% of the whole sale, shipping and tax included. A real sale itemised, what sells there, and the standards that keep a shop visible.

eBay is where people go looking for a specific thing: a part that fits their model, an accessory for the controller they own, a replacement nobody stocks any more. That suits 3D printing, which can make exactly that thing, in small numbers, without a warehouse. The catch is the fee. eBay takes 13.6% of the whole sale, shipping and sales tax included, plus a per-order fee, and most sellers price as if it were 13.6% of the item. Here is a real sale, itemised.
The product
eBay takes 13.6% of $37.45, not of $29.00: the price, the shipping and the sales tax together. Working it out from the price alone would put the fee at $3.94; it is $5.49.
One sale
eBay’s published fees for most categories, read 2 October 2026. Make cost at today’s rates; postage from our live quotes.
What sells there
Parts, mounts, adapters and accessories for things people already own.
And what does notDecor and gifts usually suit Etsy better, where people browse. On eBay, buyers tend to search for a fit.
Fees, in full
- Listing
- The first 250 listings each month are free in most categories, then $0.35 each. Listings that renew every month count again.
- Final value fee
- 13.6% of the total amount of the sale in most categories: the price, the shipping the buyer paid and the sales tax, up to $7,500 an item.
- Per-order fee
- $0.30 on an order of $10 or less, $0.40 above. There is no separate payment processing fee.
- Top Rated Plus
- A 10% discount on the final value fee, for Top Rated sellers whose listings offer same- or one-business-day handling and free 30-day returns.
The standards that keep a shop visible
eBay checks every seller on the 20th of each month. Fall below its minimums and it can limit your selling and charge higher fees until you recover. Do well and you reach Top Rated, which buyers can see.
- Handling time
- The days you promise to get the parcel scanned by the carrier, from same day to 30 business days. A parcel without a carrier scan inside it counts as a late shipment.
- Minimum standard
- A transaction defect rate of no more than 2%, and no more than 2 cases (or 0.3%) closed without you resolving them.
- Top Rated
- No more than 5 late shipments (or 3%), tracking uploaded and validated on at least 95% of orders, and a defect rate of 0.5% or less.
With us, every eBay order is printed, checked and handed to the carrier within three business days, and the tracking goes back to eBay through Shippo. Set your listings’ handling time to three business days and every order lands inside it. That rules out Top Rated Plus, which needs one-day handling, but it does not stand in the way of Top Rated itself.
Listing a 3D print on eBay
- Say what it fits
- Model names, sizes and part numbers in the title are how eBay buyers search. “Wall mount for…”, “replacement knob for…”.
- Show it in use
- One photo of the part on the thing it fits does more than five on a white background.
- Name the plastic
- PLA for indoor parts, PETG or ABS for anything in a car or the sun. Buyers of parts ask.
- Stay off brands
- You can say a part fits a brand’s product. You cannot use its logo, or sell a copy of its own part design.
The same product can sell on eBay, Etsy, Amazon and your own site at once, and every channel’s orders reach us the same way. To compare what each one leaves you, see where to sell 3D prints. For what postage really costs, see how to ship 3D prints.
