Selling 3D Prints on Amazon (Without FBA)

Amazon’s reach without sending inventory to a warehouse — how on-demand fulfillment fits the A9 world.

Amazon has reach nothing else matches, and a cut to match: a referral fee on every sale and a plan on top. Two things scare 3D-print sellers off — the competition, and FBA, which means shipping boxes of stock to a warehouse and paying to keep them there. For a product made when it is ordered, you can skip the second one entirely. First, what a sale leaves you:

The Amazon move for 3D prints

Take Amazon’s reach. Leave its warehouse.

WhyFBA exists for products made in bulk ahead of time. Made to order, there is no bulk to send.

Merchant-fulfilled, done for you

A single sealed kraft parcel on a doorstep
Made to order means nothing to warehouse. Each order ships straight to the buyer.

Connect Amazon through Shippo and each order comes to production the moment it is placed, is printed, checked by a person and shipped direct to the buyer. No stock sent ahead, no storage fees, no inventory risk on a design that turns out not to sell.

Which plan

Individual
99¢ for every item sold, no monthly fee. The cheaper plan up to 40 sales a month.
Professional
$39.99 a month, no per-item fee. From 41 sales a month it costs less, and it unlocks the bulk listing tools and ads.
Brand Registry
Needs a trademark. Unlocks A+ content and more control of your listings — worth it once a product has proven itself.

Rank on what they type

Amazon search is relevance first. Clear beats clever:

  • The phrase a buyer types goes in the title — “monitor riser with drawer”, not a brand name nobody knows yet.
  • Bullets carry the benefits and the secondary keywords, not marketing adjectives.
  • Fill in the backend search terms. Buyers never see them; Amazon indexes them.
  • Photos still decide the click — four to six, including one with a hand for scale.

Amazon rewards functional, searchable products: organisers, replacement parts, mounts, things people look up by name. Brand-led, one-of-a-kind pieces do better on your own store. The channels side by side are in where to sell 3D prints.

For a batch rather than one-at-a-time orders, the low-volume manufacturing guide prices a whole run.
