For shops that already sell 3D prints

Keep your printers. Send us the rest.

The four prints that tie up a machine all day can leave. Everything you personalise or finish by hand stays exactly where it is. You choose which listings move, listing by listing, and nothing else about your shop changes.

First, the honest question

Are you actually out of printer time?

Put your real numbers in. It works out the hours a week your orders need, what your machines can comfortably give, and how long the gap takes to open at your current growth. If the answer is that you are fine, close the tab — we would rather you knew.

Having us make those 9 orders would cost about $8.70 each to make, $78.30 a week, plus the shipping labels.

How overflow works →

A capacity estimate, not an income projection. Make cost uses PLA at $0.02/g plus $3.00 per print-hour, with a $2.00 minimum per order, treating each order as one product. Other materials cost a little more per gram. Your real cost comes from your own sliced file.

How it works

You move listings, not orders

Orders reach us by SKU. Only the listings you build as products with us come here, so there’s nothing to route by hand, and each listing can say accurately who makes it and where it ships from.

  1. 1

    Pick the listings to move

Start with long, simple, single-material prints that tie up your machines for hours. Keep anything you personalise or finish by hand on your own printers.

  2. 2

Build them as products with the same SKUs

Upload each file (STL, OBJ, 3MF or STEP), choose the material and colour, and give the product the SKU your listing already uses. You see the exact make cost before you save it.

  3. 3

    Connect your store through Shippo

Orders for those SKUs come to us. Orders for your other SKUs show in your order book as “No product match” and are never printed or charged here.

  4. 4

On Etsy, disclose us on the moved listings

Add PrintPort3D as a production partner on those listings, and set their shipping origin to Orange, California and their processing time to at least 3 business days.

Is it right for your shop

Where overflow fits, and where it doesn’t

A good fit

  • You sell your own designs and orders are waiting on your printers.
  • A few long prints take up most of your machine time.
  • You want to take on more orders without buying printers yet.
  • Your busy stretches come and go, and you don’t want machines sitting idle afterwards.

Not a fit

  • Multicolour parts. We print one colour per part.
  • Painted, sanded or hand-finished items. We remove supports and install hardware, and that’s all.
  • Other people’s designs sold on Etsy. Etsy requires your own original design whoever prints it.
  • Anything you need shipped the next day.

Questions

Overflow, answered

Can I keep printing some listings myself and send you the rest?

Yes, that is what overflow is. Build only the listings you want us to make as products in PrintPort3D, with the same SKUs your store uses. Orders for those SKUs come to us. Orders for your other SKUs are never printed or charged by us.

What happens to orders for listings I print myself?

They appear in your PrintPort3D order book marked “No product match”, because no product of yours uses that SKU. Nothing happens to them unless you choose to map one to a product. You fulfil them exactly as you do today.

Is using PrintPort3D allowed on Etsy?

Yes, for items based on your own original designs. Add us as a production partner on the listings we make, and set their shipping origin to Orange, California. Our Etsy guide quotes the policy and walks through the setup.

How much does it cost?

Material by the gram, plus $3.00 per print-hour (pro-rated on shorter prints), with a $2.00 minimum per order. There is no monthly fee. The shipping label is bought on your own Shippo account.

How fast do you ship?

We aim to ship every order within 3 business days of when it was placed. If you plan to move a best-seller or a lot of volume at once, email us your weekly numbers first and we will confirm the lead time before you switch.
