Definitions for the terms PrintPort3D uses across these docs. Each entry is a single sentence and links to the page that covers it in full. Use the outline on the right to navigate.

A – B

Three terms sit at the center of the product model. A Design becomes a Product, and a Product is joined to your Store Listing by its SKU. The remaining entries build on that relationship.

Two points worth remembering

PrintPort charges your card the make cost to produce each order. There is no payout, escrow, or wallet, and your customer pays you through your own store. Your retail price is never stored here, so any selling-price figure you see is an estimate.
Activationhome
Get started on your Overview: the five setup steps a new seller completes — upload a model, add a product, connect Shippo, link a storefront inside Shippo, and add a card. The Shippo steps let orders import; the card lets them be made.
Approveorders
The recovery action that charges your card and starts production on an order waiting for your go-ahead, either because you approve orders manually or because you just mapped its SKU.
Authorize & capturebilling
The two-step charge PrintPort uses. It first authorizes (holds) the make cost on your card and buys the Shippo label, then captures (finalizes) the charge only after the label succeeds. Your card is charged at label purchase, not at order placement.
Automatic vs manual fulfillmentorders
The Settings toggle that determines whether orders start printing on their own or wait as “Held for approval” until you approve each one. Manual approval is the default.
Beacon / live updateworkspace
A per-seller signal that refreshes your Orders, Finance, Overview, and Catalog pages when something changes, so the numbers stay current without a reload.
Below costpricing
An alert PrintPort shows when a product’s observed retail (an estimate) is at or under its make cost, meaning a sale would lose money.
Break-evenpricing
The store price a sale must clear to cover its make cost. List above it to make a profit, since PrintPort never sets or stores your retail price.

C – D

COGS (ourCost)pricing
PrintPort’s term for a product’s cost of goods sold, the underlying production cost behind your make cost, stored on the product as ourCost.
Custom orderorders
An order for printed parts from your own files — one to 500 — placed through the 5-step Order parts flow, where the buyer pays PrintPort the full total up front (parts plus shipping) and your saved card is never charged.
Designobject
A single 3D file you uploaded or generated (STL, OBJ, 3MF, or STEP) that PrintPort slices into a weight, print time, and dimensions. A design has no price or SKU of its own.

M – O

Main cardbilling
The saved card PrintPort charges first for your make costs. The first card you add becomes the main card, and any others act as automatic fallbacks.
Make costpricing
What PrintPort charges your card to produce one unit: material at the real inventory price per gram times the sliced weight, plus labor at $3 per print-hour, plus any hardware and assembly you chose, with a $2.00 minimum per order. Shipping is not included.
Assemblypricing
Optional, per product: when a unit has two or more pieces the composer asks, and Assemble it puts every unit together before it ships, for $1.00 per part (printed copies and hardware pieces both count). Ship it loose sends the pieces as printed.
Order minimumpricing
The least PrintPort charges to make one order: $2.00. If material, labor and hardware for the whole order come to less, the charge is $2.00. It applies per order, not per unit, and never includes shipping.
Map productorders
The recovery action that links an incoming order line marked “No product match” to the right catalog product by its SKU, and teaches PrintPort the match for next time.
Marketplace orderorders
An order that arrived from one of your connected storefronts through Shippo. Its label is bought on your own Shippo account, and your card is charged the make cost only.
Action requiredorders
The first tab of your exception-first Orders page, collecting only the orders that are stuck and require an action from you. The rest flow on their own.
Observed retailpricing
PrintPort’s best estimate of your selling price, taken as the median of your past order line items. It is always an estimate, since your actual retail price lives only on your store.

P – S

Personalizationstudio
A Studio feature that publishes a few customer-facing options (up to five fields) onto a matching single-file product, so buyers can customize it before they order.
Productobject
A sellable unit built from one or more designs (each with its own material and color), given a name, description, and SKU, and carrying a locked make cost. A product has no retail-price field.
Shipposhipping
The shipping platform every storefront connects through. PrintPort reads your orders and buys marketplace labels via Shippo; there are no direct marketplace integrations.
SKUobject
The code that is the only link between your store listing and a PrintPort product. Matching ignores letter case and leading or trailing spaces, so the code on your listing must be the same characters. A hyphen where you used an underscore, or a typo, is a different SKU and will not match.
Store Listingobject
The product your buyer sees and pays for on your own store. You create it yourself and add the matching PrintPort SKU, because PrintPort never creates or pushes a listing.
Studiostudio
PrintPort’s design workspace, where you describe a design in chat, generate a 3D mesh, or start from a template, then save the result directly into your Catalog.
Studio creditstudio
Real money on your PrintPort balance that pays for Studio actions (for example, $0.50 to author a design or $0.40 to generate a 3D image). Multi-angle renders are free, and failed actions are refunded automatically.
