Navigating the workspace

The sidebar, command palette, and mobile layout of the seller Workspace.

5 min read

Every page in your Workspace shares the same frame: a sidebar on the left, a search shortcut, a notification bell, and your account menu at the bottom. This page explains each part so you can move anywhere in the app without hunting for it.

The sidebar contains seven destinations, organized into two groups. Your shop holds the pages you use to run the business day to day. Account holds the pages where you configure it. The current page is highlighted, and it stays highlighted on its sub-pages: open an order and Orders remains lit.

Your shop

Home/dashboard
Your daily overview: the numbers that matter and anything that needs your attention first. See The Overview.
Orders/orders
An exception-first order book. It surfaces the orders that genuinely need a hand and lets the rest flow through automatically. See The Orders page.
Ideas/ideas
Product research: proven product ideas with photos, a search across the big model libraries, and a license check that says whether a downloaded model may be sold. Each idea opens a model search or a prefilled Studio draft.
Studio/studio
Design with AI and adjustable templates. Studio is in private testing on invited accounts. See Studio overview.
Catalog/products
Your products: the priced, SKU’d items you sell. The label reads Catalog, while the route is /products. See Manage your catalog.
Money/money
Your profit and loss, and the record of every make-cost charge to your card. See Finance.

Account

Settings/settings
Your connected stores, payment card, notification preferences, and profile. See Settings.
Support/support
The Support page is currently an “Upcoming” preview. The help paths available today are the per-order Get help with this button and email at support@printport3d.com. See Getting support.

The header and account menu

At the top of the sidebar, the P3 / PrintPort3D / Seller Workspace mark returns you to Overview from anywhere. At the bottom, your account card shows your avatar initial, display name, and email. Click it to open Log out, which signs you out and returns you to the login screen.

Badges and notification counts

Two nav items and the bell carry a small count so you can see what needs attention without opening anything. The counts refresh automatically as your shop changes; you never have to reload.

Every count refreshes live. Any number over 99 shows as “99+”.

The bell appears in the sidebar header on desktop and in the top bar on mobile. Opening it shows your notification inbox. For the full picture of how notifications work — the inbox, the Overview feed, the pop-up toast, and email — see Notifications.

The command palette (⌘K)

The command palette is the fastest way to move around the app. Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) from anywhere to open a search box. Use it to pull up any of your orders or to jump directly to a page without navigating the sidebar.

  1. 1

    Open it

Press ⌘K anywhere in the Workspace, or click the Search… button at the top of the sidebar. The search box opens focused and ready.
  2. 2

    Find an order

Type an order number, a customer name, a tracking number, or a SKU. Matches appear under an Orders group with a status dot, the order number, the customer, and the total. Selecting one opens that order.
  3. 3

    Jump to a page

Type a page name — Orders, Finance, Settings — to filter the page shortcuts under a Pages group, then choose one to navigate there.
  4. 4

    Close it

Press Esc or click outside the box.

Search covers your own orders only and returns the top handful of matches. When nothing matches, it shows “No orders match ‘…’ — search covers order #, customer, tracking, and SKUs,” which also serves as a reminder of exactly what it searches.

Desktop only

The command palette is available on desktop only. On mobile there is no keyboard shortcut and no Search… button; use the menu drawer and each page’s own search box instead.

On mobile

On a narrow screen the sidebar folds away and the app adopts a mobile layout. Everything remains available; it is simply reached a little differently.

  • A fixed top bar replaces the sidebar. It shows a hamburger menu button, the current page’s name, “Seller Workspace,” and the notification bell on the right.
  • Tap the hamburger to slide in a left drawer with the same brand header, the same two nav groups, and Log out at the bottom. Tapping a link navigates there and closes the drawer.
  • The bell in the top bar opens your notification inbox from the right.

Not available on mobile

The Workspace has no bottom tab bar and no ⌘K command palette. Both the shortcut and the Search button are desktop-only. If an older guide mentions a row of tabs across the bottom, that describes a previous version of the app.

What the workspace intentionally omits

A few features common to other tools are deliberately absent from the Workspace chrome, so you are not searching for a button that does not exist:

No global “+” button
There is no add-anything control in the frame. You create products from Catalog and Studio, not from a shortcut in the chrome.
No “Upload Files” nav item
Uploading a design happens inside your Files, not a separate sidebar entry. Older guides that point to an “Upload Files” link are out of date.
No floating chat bubble
The pop-up AI chat, cookie banner, and feedback popup are all disabled inside the Workspace. Support is a dedicated nav item instead, alongside the per-order Get help with this button on any order that needs it.
No theme, pin, or collapse
The sidebar has no dark-mode toggle and no way to pin or collapse it. It is a fixed panel, identical for everyone, with nothing to configure.
